One cannot avoid hearing on a daily basis about the detrimental effects of human activity on our planet. For AB Treeworkers, it is of utmost importance to carry out our work without harming the environment. Accordingly, we treat all scrap wood generated as a by-product of pruning in an ecologically sustainable manner.

As regards small twigs and leaves, our suggestion is that they be left on the ground by the tree/ treated. This way the organic material is returned to the soil. This is beneficial for the wellbeing of your tree as it allows the tree to recover some of the carbon lost in pruning. Moreover, the layer of organic material helps to maintain the humidity of the soil. It also makes the surface layer of the soil near your tree – where 80 % of the tree’s roots grow - more nutritious.

Upon request at the time of your order, AB Treeworkers will cut and chop your waste wood to fit your fireplace.

As a more imaginative alternative, your scrap wood can also be turned, for example, into a sculpture, chairs or a bench for your garden.

Finally, should you so wish, all organic waste generated can of course also be taken away for disposal.
